## List of Maxwell's equations

This post is a list of Maxwell's equations for electromagnetism. James Clerk Maxwell published an early form of these equations in 1861. There are 4 equations listed below.

**1. Gauss's law**

"Gauss's law... [relates] the distribution of electric charge to the resulting electric field." (Wikipedia: Gauss's law, 9.10.20)

**2. Gauss's law for magnetism**

"[Gauss's law for magnetism] states that the magnetic field has divergence equal to zero... It is equivalent to the statement that magnetic monopoles do not exist." (Wikipedia: Gauss's law for magnetism, 9.10.20)

**3. Faraday's law of induction**

"Faraday's law of induction is a basic law of electromagnetism predicting how a magnetic field will interact with an electric circuit to produce an electromotive force..." (Wikipedia: Faraday's law of induction, 9.10.20)

**4. Ampere's law**
